At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the involvement of the parents

We believe that the partnership between home and school is very important. Parents are encouraged to keep in touch with what their child is doing at school.
We hold ‘Welcome Meetings’ at the start of each academic year where information pertinent to your child’s class is shared. We also post information regularly on our website and send home regular newsletters to keep parents informed of what is happening in school.
Each term the class page on the website is updated by each class teacher so that parents know the topics being covered. This page will also contain any news specific to your child’s class and other notes from the teacher. Your child’s class teacher will also have included information about how you can help and also information about homework. There may also be links to helpful websites.
You can also keep up to date by following us on Twitter @sunnybankschool
Each class also has their own Twitter page too @EYFSsunnybank, @Year1sunnybank, @Year2sunnybank etc.
During the course of the year we hold two Parents’ Evenings - one in the Autumn Term and one in the Spring Term. End of term reports are sent home towards the end of the Summer Term and parents can request a meeting with their child’s teacher at this time if they wish.
Also, we have an open door policy, parents are welcome to see the Head Teacher, Deputy Head Teacher or the class teacher at other times if they feel they wish to discuss a particular problem with regard to their child. It is usually necessary to make an appointment in this instance so that the necessary member of staff is available.
